Elm Crest Manor is a skilled nursing facility in New Salem, North Dakota. We are located 30 miles west of Bismarck under the watchful guise of our world-famous cow, Salem Sue. We are proud to offer 62 beds and 19 assisted living apartments. Our dedicated staff provides rehabilitation services and around-the-clock skilled care in a comfortable and friendly environment.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Support the Mission and Philosophy of Elm Crest Manor.
- Is knowledgeable of resident and tenant rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents and tenants in a safe and secure environment.
- Assure the confidentiality of resident, tenant, employee and operational data.
- Must possess written and oral communication skills in order to effectively carry out the Standard Requirements and Essential Functions of the job.
- Interacts effectively and tactfully with applicants, employees, residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Is dependable and reliable – works scheduled shift and follows procedures if unable to work the shift. Arrives to work in a suitable mental and physical condition as well as neat and clean in appearance. Follows proper dress code and wears name badge at all times.
- Must be able to perform work assignments without constant supervision. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

Attending all required meetings and in-services mandatory for this position.
- In accordance with the team philosophy, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Flexibility of work assignments is necessary and may occasionally involve working outside business hours, such as evenings, nights or weekends.
- Must follow allsafety policies, procedures and precautions when performing job duties and assignments, maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment. Knowledgeable of the Emergency Manual. Able to independently respond to emergency situations in a prompt and precise manner or be capable of following directions as delivered.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish, update and enforce policies and procedures in accordance with the regulations and facility goals as they relate to Human Resources.
- Administer and coordinate FMLA, medical, and personal leaves in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Determine employee eligibility, changes in coverage, manage employee paperwork and process company benefit and retirement plan enrollments in coordination with vendor
- WSI claims management
- Checks applications and references for prospective employees and arranges for interviews as required or directed.
- Provide support to the hiring process in applicant screening, processing and/or interviews to include verification of employment
- Conducts employee background checks in accordance with facility policy.
- Handle and process staff status changes, terminations, onboarding documents and necessary letters/communications – ensuring compliance with hiring/discharge policies and procedures
- Facilitate orientation and education sessions for onboarding new employees and on a routine basis
- Coordinate and host employee engagement and/or recognition initiatives and events
- Maintenance of employee personnel files
- Assist with routine safety training programs as assigned.
- Create, maintain and update strategic plan for recruitment, safety and assorted initiatives
- Coordinate and assist with open enrollment process
- Coordinate and assist with annual enrollment and ACA reporting
- Provide primary support to the payroll process and timekeeping procedures
- Ensures compliance with current federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman’s compensation, etc.
- Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
- Reports non-compliance with policies, procedures, regulations or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
- Observe and participate in workplace investigations
- Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Assume other duties as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
Experience in Human Resources and strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations preferred
Must have strong communication and organizational skills

$68,640-$79,040/year
